I know there are tons of People of Color out there (and seeing I’m Arab I could join that category) that vehemently bash White People.
Whether it’s about White Privilege, White Savior Complex, etc…
As much as reverse racism isn’t as bad as the racism many White folks have inflicted upon generations and continents of people let me ask you this:
1. Although you cannot change the past, why can’t you recognize the racism that was against you, and start to become a better person by not practicing reverse racism?
2. I know a lot of White folks/families that are not even racist at all in comparison to many Arab/Desi/Nigerian/Malaysian families seeing they date/marry outside of their culture WAY more than the “People of Color” ever do sometimes. So whose more racist now?
3. Do you realize how generic the term White People is anyway? You cannot group together every person from European Origin as the “Oppressor”; especially if they don’t even live in the area they are “oppressing”. That’s like blaming every Englishman until today for King George III’s atrocities towards the settlers in America.
4. Why do you believe every White person has a hidden KKK agenda? If they say one word out of line, (and it happens, I’ve seen it), we all will call them a White Savior/White Racist, etc… There are subtle racists, ignorant individuals, and sometimes just people that accidently say the wrong thing, just spare them the earful and be more polite when correcting them so they could actually listen to you.
Now I’m not saying that White people are not known for racism, and they still are, there are tons of White Supremacy groups out there and there is still tons of racism towards immigrants in Europe.
However, I believe we have to be intelligent enough to tell the difference.
Kaxbe: yeah, you are wrong. lemme break it down
1. we PoC have no problem recognizing racism, don’t tell us to recognize it. also, reverse-racism isn’t a thing because of the fundamental nature of racism is systemic and oppresses PoC’s. white people are not oppressed by their race.
2. who’s more racist now? well, that’d be you right now, actually. look, i’m not justifying any racial prejudices that PoC families have, but that’s just it, it’s prejudice, not racism. racism works in a very specific way which upholds white supremacy even in the most subtle ways. futhermore, when Arab/Desi/Nigerian/Malaysian/etc families dislike it when their children “date outside their race”, it has less to do with race and more to do with cultural preservation, which is a matter of ethnicity rather than race. fuck, i’m Filipino and my parents always preferred me to date another Filipino over anyone else.
3. when white people are generalized, their feelings get hurt. when PoC are generalized, they are fetishized, criminalized, and murdered.
4. look, we KNOW that not all white people mean to be racist. we KNOW that people make mistakes. does that mean that we shouldn’t call them out on their racist bullshit? no, it doesn’t. however, what pisses us off more than someone being racist, unintentional or not, is when they make EXCUSES for their racism.
you need to be intelligent enough to read up on racism and actually listen when PoCs talk about their experiences with racism.
ignorant. adj: having beliefs differing from those of an oppressive person, particularly one who is arguing a tired and illogical point dripping with privileged undertones.
overreacting. v: making one with privilege feel uncomfortable by addressing the various privileges they inherently have and how they negatively affect oppressed individuals.
violence. n: the subsequent anger shown by oppressed peoples when denied the right to express themselves, or when belittled for doing so by privileged folks.

STEP 33: RACISM AND ACKNOWLEDGING RACE ARE NOT THE SAME THING
Fellow White People,
I don’t see race, but everyone else does. In my mind, my ability to not notice that everyone in the movie I just watched was white (except the black guy who died to save his white friend) makes me definitely not a racist. I know that when people of color make a fuss about that kind of stuff, they’re race-bating. Every white person knows that if we just ignored race, racism would just go away.
But some people don’t see it that way. They seem to think that ignoring race is ‘erasure.’ Like, not acknowledging that a person’s race has an impact on their identity means that we’re ignoring hundreds of years of history that have a very real impact on the reality of the present or something. I know: it’s crazy.
But the thing is that even though we know that the default person is white, and therefore a white person is identifiable to everyone so there’s not use getting mad about the over-prevalence of white people in media because really they’re all just every-men, not everyone agrees. So I think the best thing for us to do, fellow white people, is to learn that race does matter. Acknowledging its existence doesn’t have to mean that we make assumptions about people: it simply means that we’ve acknowledged an aspect of them that is most likely pretty important to their identity.
Also, we should probably take heed when the stories we consume only put people of color in subordinate or stereotypical roles. You know, because that kind of casting is probably the teensiest bit more racist than us acknowledging that it happens all the fucking time.
Love, A Concerned White Person
Okay, so this was the top rated comment on the trailer for the new HBO show Girls
and this was my response and the aftermath
i will post their reply when it happens.
Kaxbe: And I will be watching. You go and put that ignorant fool in his place.
So yeah, people can be racist against white people. All it takes is hating someone for their race.
Kaxbe: OH WOW. LOOK AT THE BIG SHOT WITH THE DICK-TIONARY.

(i’m making this a textpost because the photoset i initially reblogged it with was huge and slowing down my blog loading)
in the books, katniss is described as having olive skin and dark hair. some are claiming that, in choosing to only audition white actresses for the role of Katniss, the hunger games franchise is guilty of systematic whitewashing.
i will say, first off, that i think they ought to have auditioned actresses of other races. that is disappointing to me, but i understand why they didn’t:
first off, katniss is also described in the books as having blue eyes. try finding an actual olive skinned person with blue eyes (let alone one who could act well enough to play katniss), it’s super rare and probably a product of all the inbreeding in the tiny futuristic district where she lives. it was more important that she look like gale and the other people from the seam, so that they could be believably “cousins” later, which would mean that the directors would have needed a whole slew of blue eyed, olive skinned actors, because looking like gale (having that “seam look”) is a seriously important plotpoint in book # 2.
Secondly, Katniss’ mother in the book has blonde hair and blue eyes. her sister does, too, and she and katniss have the same father. is it even possible for a blonde haired, blue eyed woman to have sex with an olive skinned, blue eyed man and produce a child that looks like katniss?
the fact is, katniss’ appearance in the books is basically genetically impossible. i think that the movie did a good job staying true to the races of the characters… think of all the people who were pissed that rue and cinna were black! people will never be fuly satisfied with the way a book is converted into a movie, but to my knowledge all of the black characters in the book were played by black actors.
i’d be enraged if i thought that the directors had made katniss white in direct opposition to the text, but i genuinely do not think that that was the case. the author of the series was directly involved in the filmmaking process and i’m sure that she would have objected if that was the case, as well. i understand and agree with anger at systematic whitewashing, but i don’t think that the hunger games is guilty of it. i think that the main concern was staying true to the plot.
i am also deeply grateful to this franchise for popularizing a female hero that is not overly sexualized or obsessed with the men in her life. in a time where women’s rights have somehow become a voting issue again, the girls in our country need a mockingjay of their own, a pop-culture champion who can show them that girls can kick ass just the same as boys, WITHOUT being sexualized and objectified.
that’s my opinion, anyway.
Kaxbe: Too bad that your opinion is wrong and that it seems like you have a high-school-only understanding of genetics.
- Intent is not fucking magical. Just because you “didn’t mean to racist” does NOT change the fact that whatever it was got you called out was racist.
- Having PoC friends does not preclude you being a racist. In fact, when you say this, you make yourself look more guilty because if you TRULY weren’t racist, you would be able to accept getting called out, learn from it and move on.
- If a PoC tells you something is racist and offensive, do not argue. You, as a white person, have no experience with racism. You are not an authority on racism. In saying “BUT IT’S NOT RACIST!” you are saying “Well, I don’t care what your life experiences have taught you, all that matters is my opinion.”
- If you say “We’re not ALL like that,” you’re pretty much outing yourself as a racist. If it’s not about you, if it doesn’t apply to you, then why do you feel the need to so vehemently assert that *you’re* not like that?
- If you derail, you’re being an asshole and trying to hijack a conversation. Knock that shit off.
- If you jump into a conversation that doesn’t include you, you’re being an asshole. Do not invade PoCs’ safe spaces. They created that place to get away from you, a white person, and don’t fucking want you there.
- It is NOT the job of the oppressed to educate the oppressor. There’s this wonderful thing called google, use it. There’s a tag search option on here, use it.
- IF YOU ARE CALLED OUT on something you said, apologize for fucking up. DO NOT SAY “I’m sorry you’re offended.” DO NOT SAY “I’m sorry that you feel that way.” DO say “I’m sorry for fucking up, I won’t do it again” AND DON’T DO IT AGAIN.
- If a PoC tells you to fuck off, fuck off. It’s as simple as that. Chances are they’re sick of dealing with shit and DO NOT need anymore fucking annoyances.
- If you apologize, and the apology is not accepted, deal with it. Just because you’re sorry doesn’t mean they have to accept your apology.
- It doesn’t matter if your feelings are hurt. Your feelings are NOTHING compared with the amount of shit PoC put up with. All you get out of being called a racist is hurt feelings. Deal with it.
- Lastly, racism doesn’t just mean shit like the KKK or the Aryan Nation. Racism is much more subtle than that. It’s built into the system in America. It is worldwide. Consider the following:
It’s not uncommon for people to get plastic surgery to look more “white”, be it rhinoplasty, getting eyelids operated on to give them a more “wide-eyed” look, it’s all in the name of looking “whiter”.
There are skin lightening creams available to bleach skin. There’s even one to lighten your vulva/genital area.
In many cultures, “Western” styles and ideals of beauty (AKA Whiteness) are considered superior. This is true the world over, not just here.- Whiteness=/=ALL white people. Whiteness is the above ideals. It’s the idea that whiteness is superior.
So, the next time you sit there and feel the need to interject your feelings when PoC are talking, remember this list. Remember that your feelings getting hurt < what PoC have to deal with because of racism. Remember that racism is not outright acts of racism. And remember that ultimately, it’s not your place to talk, so sit down, be quiet and LISTEN.
Don’t just HEAR what PoC are saying, LISTEN TO IT and LEARN FROM IT.
(If I’ve forgotten anything, let me know. I know I probably did, but it’s getting late >_<)
It takes 5 seconds to look at someone’s icon. 5 seconds. They’re so buttmad they won’t even look. Come on now…
I’M BLACK.
IF YOU AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME I’M WHITE, HOW DOES THAT MAKE ME A RACIST? AND DO YOU REALLY THINK I SEE MYSELF AS A MONKEY?
Calm down.
Your icon is almost unrecognizable. However, I’m sorry I misrepresented you, but what was your purpose in your original post? Because if it was meant to be parody, it wasn’t very clear. Not to mention I saw your responses to other people who were unhappy with what you said and they were equally offensive.

Remember when black people called me a racist cracker?
Umm…I’ve never enslaved anyone and I have black friends, so…piss off please.
Kaxbe: WOW. LOOK AT THIS RACIST PRAT.
(Source: brokage)
also sick of people copy/pasting from dictionary.com and acting smug about it, as if dictionary definitions are the end-all be-all of words.
you can be prejudiced toward white people. you can discriminate against white people. but you cannot be racist against white people, because racism requires power. when you talk about “racism against whites,” you are appropriating the word and the meaning of racism. if you are white, you do not experience racism. flat out.
also i’m tired of white people feeling the need to assert that “you can be prejudiced against us too!!” you can be prejudiced against fucking anything. you don’t need to assert your white victimhood, you’re just making yourself look like an idiot. prejudice against poc is racism, prejudice against you is just prejudice. it is not the same, it is not comparable. you’re cheapening the experiences of poc by claiming it compares to you getting called a cracker in middle school.
comparing white vs black prejudice is also bullshit because both have vastly different motivations and purposes. when you, as a white person, call someone “a stupid black guy” or use racial slurs, you are exerting the power of centuries of real oppression and real power that you have as a white person. you are validating widespread racism and propagation of racial stereotypes. when a black person calls you a “dumb cracker” or a “whitey,” what does it do? hurt your feelings a little? do you really expect any marginalized group to sit still and take in all of the racism white people throw at them and not lash out at all? poc being “~*~reverse racist~*~” is a consequence of us being actually racist. poc are not preventing you from getting jobs. they are not keeping you out of government and decision-making positions. a black person calling you a cracker literally has all the power of anyone calling you a neckbeard or a butt or something.
tl;dr: stop trying to cry racism, white people
(note: i am white. if you are a poc and see any kind of overstep by me in this post, please let me know)
